UCLA goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy has earned United Soccer Coaches first-team Scholar All-America and All-Region honors. She becomes the sixth Bruin to earn this award and the first since Sarah Killion and Sam Mewis in 2014.
Brzykcy, a junior sociology major from San Clemente, holds a 3.49 cumulative grade point average. She has won a multitude of awards in her first full-time season as the starting goalkeeper, being named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, earning first-team All-Region and All-Pac-12 honors, as well as third-team All-America acclaim. Brzykcy posted a 0.73 goals against average and recorded seven shutouts while playing every minute of all 17 games. She led the Bruins to 13 victories and the Pac-12 title.
Earlier this week, Brzykcy was selected to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll for the second time in her career.
