Michaela Bayerlova Named All-Pac-12 Second Team

May 20, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO - Washington State University senior tennis player Michaela Bayerlova has been named to the 2021 Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team, the conference announced Thursday.

The all-conference honor is the third in as many seasons for Bayerlova, who was a first-team selection her first two years before COVID-19 cut short the 2020 campaign.

Bayerlova, a data analytics major from Krumbach, Germany, has put together another strong season, posting 10 singles victories, all coming at the No. 1 position. She recorded three wins over nationally-ranked players while also holding a nationally ranking of her own throughout the season. Bayerlova opened her 2021 campaign with a straight-set win over Texas A&M's Tatiana Makarova, then No. 64 but is currently ranked No. 25.

Another of those ranked wins came against No. 103 Naomi Cheong of USC that secured the Cougars' 4-3 win over the No. 16 Trojans for only the second time in program history. Following that match, Bayerlova was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week, her fourth career POW award.
