Program-Record Four Scholar All-American Awards For Huskies

May 20, 2021

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches released the 2020 Scholar All-American and All-Region awards, with the Washington Huskies earning a program-record four such honors. Kendall Burks, Lucas Meek, Charlie Ostrem, and Dylan Teves all earned both Scholar All-American and Scholar All-Region.

Teves and Ostrem each were named the Scholar All-American First Team. They are the eighth and ninth First Team Scholar All-Americans in Washington history and the first since Brent Richards in 2011. Burks and Meeks earned Second Team, the sixth and seventh Second Team Scholar All-Americans in Washington history.

Washington had not had multiple Scholar All-Region awards in the same season since 2011, when Jamie Finch and Brent Richards earned that award. This is just the fourth time in program history Washington has had multiple Scholar All-Region awards in the same season: the Huskies had never had more than two such awards in a single season before.

Washington had not had a Scholar All-American honoree since 2011 as well. 1997 and 2011 are the only other years the Huskies have had multiple Scholar All-American awards, earning two in each of those years. This is the first Scholar All-Region or Scholar All-American of each of Burks, Meek, Ostrem, and Teves' careers.
