Spitz T-3, Bruins Advance to Final Round of Stroke Play

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Sophomore Emma Spitz is tied for third after three rounds at the NCAA Championships, as the Bruins claimed the last spot for Monday's final round at the Grayhawk Golf Club.

UCLA is in 15th place (+31, 895) following a 12-over 300, finishing three strokes clear of No. 16 Michigan State to advance to Monday's fourth round. The top eight teams after Monday's play move on to the match play portion of the NCAA Championships.

Spitz shot a 1-under 71 and is at 3-under 213 through 54 holes. She made four birdies on the par-5 seventh, 11th and 18th holes and par-4 14th to go with three bogeys. 

Sophomore Annabel Wilson is tied for 43rd (+5, 221), making four birdies on the par-4 second, par-5 fourth and 18th holes and par-3 fifth to go with five bogeys and a double in a 3-over 75. Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri shot a 4-over 76 on two birdies on the par-4 second and 17th holes, four bogeys and a double. Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara (T-118th, +19, 235) made a birdie on the par-4 10th, five bogeys and a double in a 6-over 78. Junior Simar Singh (122nd, +21, 237) recorded birdies on the par-3 fifth and par-4 14th holes, three bogeys and an 11 in a 7-over 79.

The Bruins' fourth round on Monday starts at 10 a.m. off the 10th tee in the order of Paltrinieri, Singh, Yoshihara, Wilson and Spitz. Live scoring will be available here.
