Gueant Named PING All-Region

May 29, 2021

Oregon sophomore Tom Gueant earned PING All-West Region honors following a strong 2021 season, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Saturday.

Gueant led the team with a 71.45 scoring average and shot par or better in 18 of his 31 rounds this season while shooting in the 60s six times. His season scoring average is also the ninth-best in a single season in school history. He turned in four top-10 finishes – after having just two in his career prior to this year – and delivered a counting score in all but one round this season.

The native of France turned in back-to-back third-place finishes at the Duck Invitational and The Goodwin on the way to earning Pac-12 Golfer of the Month honors. He matched an Oregon program record with an 8-under 62 in the final round of The Goodwin to finish the week 9 under and just a shot out of a playoff. Earlier that week, Gueant led the way for the Ducks with a third-place finish at 3 under in the Duck Invitational at Eugene Country Club.

Gueant capped off the season by turning in a solid week at the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, finishing tied for seventh at 1 under, highlighted by a 3-under 68 in round one to lead the way for the Ducks. This is Gueant's first career all-region selection while making it six straight seasons that Oregon has had at least one player named to the PING all-region team.
