UCLA Selected as No. 2 Seed in Lubbock Regional

The UCLA baseball team was named a No. 2 seed in the Lubbock Regional, hosted by Texas Tech, on Monday morning as the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee announced the 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament.

The Bruins (35-18) are headed to the postseason for the fourth consecutive season, and 12th time overall under head coach John Savage. UCLA will be making its 24th appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

Regional play begins on Friday, Jun. 4 from Texas Tech's Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The Bruins open up against No. 3 seed North Carolina (27-25) at 4:00 p.m. PT, with TV information to be announced at a later date.

Host and No. 1 seed Texas Tech (36-15) will face off against No. 4 seed Army West Point (28-23) at 9:00 a.m. PT on Friday morning.

The 64-team NCAA Tournament is divided into 16 Regionals. Each Regional features a four-team, double-elimination format. All games of the Regional will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
