10 Cal Swimmers To Race In Wave I Of Olympic Trials

Cal women's swimming will be well represented when Wave I of the U.S. Olympic Trials get underway this weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. Four current Golden Bears will join six incoming freshmen for the competition that runs through Monday, June 7.
 
The top two finishers in each event at Wave I will advance to the Wave II meet on June 13-20, which will determine the U.S. Olympic Team that will compete in Tokyo.
 
Prelims will begin at 8 a.m. PT and be streamed by USA Swimming, while the Olympic Channel will broadcast the nightly finals at 5 p.m. PT. The full broadcast schedule for all sessions of the Olympic Trials can be found here or on NBCOlympics.com.
 
Those listed on the psych sheet for Wave I from Cal are Elise Garcia, Ashlyn Fiorilli, Téa Laughlin and Sarah DiMeco. The newcomers expected to compete are Stephanie Akakabota, Lizzy Cooke, Alicia Henry, Mia Kragh, Ella Mazurek and Annika McEnroe.
