Covey Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District

AUSTIN, Texas – University of Utah wide receiver and return specialist Britain Covey was named to the CoSIDA 2020-21 Academic All-District Football Team, earning first-team honors for the second time in his career.

The All-District team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-team All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced later this summer.

Covey, who also earned first-team honors in 2018, is pursuing a degree in business with a 3.86 GPA. He is a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection.

Covey is a four-time All-Pac-12 performer on the field, also earning All-America honors in 2015 and 2020. He led the Utes in receiving yards in 2015, 2018 and 2020, and has played in 33 career games with 17 starts.

The Provo, Utah, native ranks fifth all-time at Utah in career punts (63) and fourth in career punt return yards (665). He also leads all active FBS players in total punt return yards.

The junior earned 2020 Phil Steele All-America honorable mention in 2020 along with All-Pac-12 first-team returner honors after ranking second in the FBS and first in the Pac-12 in punt return average (16.1).
