USC’s Daniel Cukierman Selected ITA Southwest Region Senior Player of the Year
After a successful four seasons of work as a Trojan, USC men's tennis senior Daniel Cukierman has been honored as the 2021 ITA Southwest Region Senior Player of the Year. His selection marks the second straight season with a Trojan in that seat, following Brandon Holt's pick in 2020. Cukierman is now the eighth USC player to earn this ITA regional honor.
A four-time ITA All-American, Cukierman opened his senior season ranked No. 1 in both singles and in doubles. He would cap his career with a second set of ITA All-America singles honors in reaching the NCAA Singles Round of 16, while also earning repeat ITA All-America doubles status in reaching the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals alongside Riley Smith. In the final 2021 ITA rankings, Cukierman stood at No. 24 in the nation in singles and at the No. 6 in doubles with Smith.
Cukierman finished his senior season with a 19-6 overall singles record, bumping up his career count as a Trojan to a 95-24 career singles record. Additionally, he and Smith collected a 23-5 record together in doubles action in 2021. Cukierman closed out his USC career with an 82-23 overall doubles record in his four seasons as a Trojan.
