LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball program will host on-campus volleyball camps at Galen Center this summer with seven camping options. Camps were not run during the summer of 2020 due to the COVID-19 world pandemic.
"It is exciting to finally welcome campers back to the USC campus," said USC head coach Brad Keller. "It has been a long wait, and we are thrilled to connect with our community and to have the opportunity to grow the game of volleyball."
All camps will be run by the USC volleyball staff alongside current and former Trojan volleyball players. Currently, due to continued restrictions, on-campus overnight options are not available. However, room blocks at two different nearby hotels may be available on a limited basis. Interested campers may contact uscwvbcamp@gmail.com for booking information.
The College Prospect Camp opens the summer on July 7-8. A setter and libero camp and a separate hitting and blocking camp will take place on July 15. USC will host full-day all-skills camps on three days (July 16-18). The first-contact camp takes place on July 19 with half-day serving camps on July 20. A camp designated for youth athletes (sixth grade and under) new to the sport of volleyball is set for July 19-20.
All camps are open to all applicants and are limited only by roster space, age, and grade level. Interested parties may reach out to assistant coach Amy Pauly via uscwvbcamp@gmail.com.
Under Keller—in his first season—USC (7-8, 7-8 Pac-12) concluded the 2020-21 season with four straight wins (at UCLA, at Arizona, vs. Colorado twice) and was competitive in each of its five-set losses to the league's top teams. The Trojans had seven matches cancelled for various reasons including COVID-19 protocols in the already-truncated Pac-12 season. Senior outside hitter Brooke Botkin (Houston, Texas/Pearland HS) was chosen to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team and received AVCA All-West Region honorable mention.
