Jun 20, 2021

EUGENE, Ore. – Redshirt sophomore Kaylee Mitchell finished 32nd in the 3,000m steeplechase at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials on Sunday night at Hayward Field.

Mitchell finished 32nd in the event with a time of 10:26.69.

"I'm incredibly proud of this journey that Kaylee (Mitchell) has been on," said head coach Louie Quintana. "It's certainly not the result she was looking for, but just gaining the experience of competing at the Olympic Trials is huge. She is a sophomore and she will be back and better at these big meets. There are big things ahead for the Beavers."

The redshirt sophomore qualified for the race with a time of 9:48.30 at the Pac-12 Championships this season to set a new school record and finish third in the event.
