Jun 28, 2021

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Sun Devil Hockey's incoming freshman Josh Doan received an invitation to USA Hockey's 2021 World Junior Summer Showcase set for July 24-31, announced by USA Hockey on Monday afternoon. The showcase includes 44 invited players at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Doan, a Scottsdale native, was awarded the USHL Second Team earlier this month after finishing the season third in league scoring with 70 points. He also added the title 'Clark Cup Champion' to his trophy case with the Chicago Steel in late May. The son of former Coyote captain Shane Doan begins his college hockey career in the desert in Fall 2021 and is presumed to be taken in this summer's 2021 NHL Draft.

The Showcase, which will also include teams from Finland and Sweden, will serve as an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2021, through Jan. 5, 2022 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.

The Showcase will include 11 games across eight days and a complete schedule and ticket information is available at USAHockeyArena.com. All session passes are available for $40 by calling the USA Hockey Arena box office, or for more information call 734-453-6400 x396. Team USA players will be split into two squads for the event and compete against squads from Finland and Sweden.
