Twelve Bears Named IRCA Scholar Athletes

The Cal men's rowing team had 12 student-athletes receive IRCA Scholar Athlete recognition.
Recent graduates Brett Cataldo, George Finlayson, Jack Gordon, Evan Lane, Matthew Mesman and Jack Robertson; rising seniors Michael Chandler, Mathias Heldbo and Elliott Kemp; and rising juniors Harry Cox, Dane Halkiw and Balthasar Issa each received the honor.
To receive IRCA Scholar Athlete accolades, a student-athlete must carry at least 3.50 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore in eligibility and have competed in a team's top three boats or raced in the 2021 IRA National Championship.
The Bears finished the 2021 season ranked No. 2 in the country and placed second at the IRA National Championship.
