Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

Jun 29, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pac-12 Conference announced the full 2021 women's soccer schedule on Tuesday, which is set to start on August 19 as host to Central Arkansas at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

This season's schedule includes 20 regular-season games, with nine at home and 11 on the road. The Sun Devils start the season with nine non-conference matches before opening conference competition, which includes 11 games in the Pac-12. ASU is scheduled to host the Sun Devil Classic from Sept. 2-5 with guests California State University, Northridge, LSU, and the University of Arizona.

"I'm so excited for this new season," said head coach Graham Winkworth. "This group really set a high standard on and off the pitch in the spring and I cannot wait to see them all again soon."

Fifth-year head coach Graham Winkworth and team are set to open competition with two home games on Aug. 19 and 22 against Central Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana at the newly Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

After beginning the season hosting UCA and SELU, the Sun Devil's continue non-conference play with a trip to the South against Mississippi State on Aug. 26 and UAB on Aug. 29. ASU returns home to host CSUN, and LSU on Sept. 2 and 5. The Sun Devils travel to Tuscon for the UA Tournament before closing out the non-conference slate at Colorado College.

"I've really tried to challenge this team early in our schedule. SELU are an NCAA team and took Rutgers all the way. Adding schools from the SEC, Big Ten and Big 12 early in the fixtures will mean the team will need to come in ready," Winkworth said.

ASU opens Conference play in a single-game road trip at Washington. The squad then hosts SoCal teams USC and UCLA on September 30 and October 3. ASU makes a turn-around trip back to the Pacific Northwest against Oregon and Oregon State. The Sun Devils host Washington State on October 15 before starting a two-game road trip to Northern California versus Stanford and Cal, followed by hosting Colorado and Utah. ASU concludes the regular season with a trip down south against UArizona.

"The Pac-12 is always a massive challenge," Winkworth continued. "But I know this group will be excited to challenge themselves against some of the best players and coaches in the country."
