Jun 29, 2021

UCLA alumna Teagan Micah has been selected to Australia's 2020 Olympic soccer team and will be the fourth Bruin headed to Tokyo, joining her former teammate Jessie Fleming (Canada) and 2014 graduates Abby Dahlkemper and Sam Mewis (USA).

Micah started four years at UCLA from 2016-19 and helped lead the Bruins to College Cup appearances in 2017 and 2019. She sits in UCLA's Top 3 for career saves (No. 2 with 248), career shutouts (No. 3 with 36) and career victories (No. 3, 62), and her career goals against average of 0.81 ranks ninth on UCLA's all-time chart. Micah holds the conference record with eight career Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors, and in 2016 she was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Freshman Best XI first team.

A member of Australia's 2019 World Cup squad and 2017 Tournament of Nations championship team, Micah made her Matildas playing debut on June 15, 2021, shutting out Sweden, 0-0. She earned W-League Goalkeeper of the Year and Melbourne City FC Player of the Year honors in 2020-21.

Australia opens its Olympic competition against New Zealand on July 21. Following will be a matchup against Sweden on July 24. Group play will conclude on July 27 against the United States.
