Adley Rutschman Headed To MLB Futures Game

Former Oregon State All-American catcher Adley Rutschman has been named to the American League roster for the SiriusXM Futures Game, it was announced on Wednesday.
 
The 2021 Futures Game will be played at Colorado's Coors Field on July 11 with a 12 p.m. PT start. The game will air on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com.
 
The MLB Futures Game features the sport's best prospects.
 
Rutschman won the 2019 Golden Spikes Award and was the recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy; both honors recognize college baseball's top player. He also earned the Buster Posey Award as the nation's top catcher and was a 2018 and 2019 All-American. Rutschman was named the 2018 Most Outstanding Player at the College World Series.
 
Rutschman has played in 47 games for Double-A Bowie this season, batting .287 with 11 home runs, seven doubles and 32 runs batted in. He has drawn 40 walks to 35 strikeouts and thrown out 33 percent of runners attempting to steal against him.
