SEATTLE – The 2020 volleyball season wrapped up just over two months ago, but 2021 is fast approaching, as evidenced by the Pac-12 today announcing the slate of conference volleyball matches and television selections.
Washington is still finalizing its nonconference schedule, but the first conference home match at Alaska Airlines Arena this fall is set for Wednesday, Sept. 22, against a team sure to be ranked in the preseason top-25, the Utah Utes.
The Huskies will be regulars on the Pac-12 Networks. Sixteen of Washington's twenty Pac-12 matches will be televised live.
After hosting Utah, the Huskies visit Pullman for the first round with Washington State. A home week against UCLA and USC is followed by a four-match road trip to the Arizona and Oregon schools. Home matches against Cal and Stanford on Oct. 22 and 24 wrap up the first half of conference.
The second half starts on the road in Los Angeles on Oct. 29 at USC and at UCLA on Oct. 31. UW hosts the Arizona schools in the first week of November, then travels to the Bay Area. Three of the final four matches are at home, as the Huskies host the Oregon schools, then go to Boulder for their only meeting with Colorado on Nov. 24, before returning home to close out the regular season against WSU on Nov. 27.
Washington won the 2020-21 Pac-12 title in the delayed spring season with a 17-3 record for its sixth conference title in program history. The Huskies then made the NCAA Semifinals before falling to eventual champion Kentucky. The Dawgs will return every starter and all but one letterwinner from the 2020-21 squad.
