Junior Briana Perez has been named to the Academic All-District First Team, as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) on Thursday.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in late July. The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

It marks the third season in a row in which Perez has been named Academic All-District. She was a First Team selection in 2019 and a Second Team honoree in 2020. Perez has been named Pac-12 All-Academic in 2019 and 2020 (2021 award yet to be announced). She was also recognized with the 2021 Academic Excellence Award for having made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every quarter at UCLA.

Perez, an NFCA Third Team All-American, and an All-Region and All-Pac-12 First Team and All-Pac-12 Defensive Team selection, led the Bruins in batting average (.353), runs scored (52), triples (5), total bases (119), multiple-hit games (16) and multi-RBI contests (12), ranking second with 41 runs batted in and a .700 slugging percentage, third with 13 stolen bases and tied for third with 13 home runs. Perez had hits in 43 of 54 games, posting hitting streaks of seven, eight, five and 12 this season. She scored a run in 37 of 54 games, including multiples 14 times.
