Gower & Lau Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – University of Colorado golfers Ellie Gower and Alisha Lau have been named WGCA All-American Scholars for 2020-21, the Women's Golf Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
 
Gower, a native from Perth, Scotland, played in all 21 rounds and seven events for the Buffs this past spring. Her 75.90 stroke average ranked third on the team. The sophomore led the Buffaloes at the Pac-12 Championships, tying for 13th after carding a 219(70-76-73). A strategic communication major at Colorado, she has earned a GPA of 3.67.
 
Hailing from Richmond, British Columbia, Lau is also majoring in strategic communication and has earned a 3.61 GPA at CU. As a  redshirt junior, she played in six events and 18 rounds this spring. Her best finish was at the ASU Winter Classic where she shot a 223 and tied for 22nd. Lau recorded a 76.11 stroke average and a 4.28 SCIRP average, both fourth on the team. Earlier this season she was named a Top-20 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and one of CU Boulder's Student Leader of the Year Recipients.   
 
This is Lau's second appearance (2019-20) on the team, while it is Gower's first.
