Sixteen Utes Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

RICHMOND, Va. – The Utah swimming and diving teams landed 16 student-athletes to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team for the 2020-21 season.

Utah earned three first team selections on both the women's and men's teams. Earning a first team nod was Emma Broome, Lizzy DeCecco, Emma Ruchala, Andrew Britton, Tony Chen and Luke McDivitt. To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship.

Collecting honorable mention honors on the CSCAA Scholar All-American Team for the year included Regan Caufield, Emma Lawless, Lexi Mills, Charity Pittard, Maddie Woznick, Dylan Becker, Jackson Cunningham, Chase Hindmarsh, Jaek Horner and Ben Waterman. Honorable mention selections must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.

Ruchala was recognized for a fourth time, while Britton, Chen, Lawless and Waterman earned their third selection. Becoming two-time honorees were Caufield, Cunningham, DeCecco, Hindmarsh, McDivitt, Mills and Pittard.

The Utah men's and women's swimming and diving programs were both named Scholar All-America Teams back on June 22. Additionally, 21 members of the men's swimming and diving team and 16 of the women's swimming and diving team landed on the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
