EUGENE, Ore. – Incoming Oregon freshman Reagan Hope will represent Team USA as a part of the U20 National Team at the FIVB Under-20 World Championships, which are set to run from July 9-17 in The Netherlands and Belgium.
Hope made the 12-player roster as a middle blocker after being selected from a pool of 20 athletes at the U20 team's training camp that went from June 28-July 8. The team will open the U20 World Championships on Friday at 9:30 a.m., starting pool play against Russia, before taking on Thailand and Turkey. All matches will be streamed on the VolleyballWorld YouTube channel.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native signed with the Ducks last fall and will join the team following her stint with Team USA. Hope comes in ranked No. 21 in the Class of 2021, fourth overall among middle blockers and second in Arizona by PrepVolleyball. She also helped lead Northwest Christian High School to three consecutive 3A state titles from her sophomore through senior seasons.
Hope ended her high school career with 1,568 career kills and a .363 hitting percentage while averaging 4.3 kills per set. She also served up 209 career aces and added 761 total digs. Hope received first-team all-state honors following each of her final three seasons of high school, highlighted by being named a state player of the year finalist after her sophomore year.
