Krawczyk seeks second consecutive Grand Slam win on Sunday at Wimbledon

Jul 10, 2021

Desirae Krawczyk is one step away from winning a second Grand Slam title in as many months after she and teammate Neal Skupski used a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 win over John Peers and Shuai Zhang on Saturday to advance to the mixed doubles championship match at Wimbledon.

The pair will play at 8 a.m. Arizona Time on Sunday.

Last month, Krawczyk earned her first Grand Slam victory after teaming with Joe Salisbury to capture the mixed doubles championship at the French Open. On Sunday, Krawczyk and Salisbury will be standing on opposite ends of the court as Krawczyk's partner at Roland Garros will be teaming with Harriet Dart.

The 27-year-old Krawczyk has 13 professional doubles titles to her name, including three this year. The French Open win was the first mixed-doubles crown of her career.

Regardless of Sunday's outcome, Krawczyk will maintain her streak of finishing in the top-three of the 11 Grand Slam doubles tournaments she's entered. Prior to this year, Krawczyk had competed at Wimbledon just one time, finishing second in the 2019 tournament.

Sunday's mixed doubles final will be preceded by men's singles championship match. Coverage of the day's events will start with ESPN's Breakfast at Wimbledon at 5 a.m. MST. The men's singles championship is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. MST on ESPN and will be followed by the mixed doubles final.
