USC Beach Volleyball’s Nourse Twins Named to USAV U21 Team

Jul 14, 2021

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball announced its U19 and U21 national team rosters last week, which included four USC beach volleyball players. Sophomore twins Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif.) were chosen among six women to be part of the USA Beach U21 Women's Team.

Nourse and Nourse claimed silver at the 2021 FIVB U21 World Championship Trials in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 9. They will participate in the U21 Beach World Championship in Roi Et, Thailand, Sept. 24-29. The twin Trojans will also participate in a training camp July 26-28 in Fort Lauderdale alongside the Beach NDTP Summer Training Series.

Earlier in the summer (June 25), All-American freshman Megan Kraft (San Diego, Calif.) and freshman Delaynie Maple (San Diego, Calif.) were two of six female athletes named to the USA Beach U19 Girl's Team. Kraft and Maple took silver at the U19 FIVB World Championship Trials June 22-24 in Huntington Beach, Calif. and may participate in the U19 Beach World Championship (Sept. 15-19) in Roi Et, Thailand, should Team USA receive an additional berth into the field.

Additionally, on June 3, Kraft and All-American Julia Scoles (Mooresville, N.C.) were among the 13 women chosen to the U.S. Collegiate Beach National Team (BCNT).

The USC beach volleyball team captured the program's fourth national championship (third NCAA crown) with a win over crosstown rival UCLA in the NCAA Championship dual. Under second-year head coach Dain Blanton, USC went 30-4 and had winning streaks of 13 and 12 matches during the season. The Trojans finished as the Pac-12 runner-up and produced the league's Pair of the Year in Tina Graudina and Megan Kraft. Graudina was also named Pac-12 Player of the Year and Kraft was the conference's Freshman of the Year. Both were named first-team AVCA All-Americans and were joined on the first team by Julia Scoles and Sammy Slater.
