Monica Abbot pitched a one-hit shutout as the United States has yet to give up a run in either of the first two games of the tournament. Arioto started at first base and batted cleanup for the Americans. She had one hit as she hit a line drive single through the right side of the infield in the fifth inning. The USA scored their only run the batter before Arioto came up as Amanda Chidester singled to score Haylie McCleney.
