Bears Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors
BERKELEY - A total of 13 California track & field student-athletes garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic honors as announced by the organization on Thursday. The Golden Bears earning the recognition were Ezinne Abba, Jasmine Blair, Annie Boos, Asha Fletcher, Anna Purchase, Krissy Smoot, Jenea Spinks, Maisie Stevens, Kennedy Williams and Deshae Wise from the women's team, while Jeff Duensing, Garrett MacQuiddy and Ivar Moisander earned the honors from the men's team.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
In addition to the individual honors, both the Cal men and women were named USTFCCCA All-Academic teams for having team GPAs of 3.0 or higher.
