Jake Tonges has been selected to the 2021 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List.

BERKELEY – Jake Tonges was selected Friday to the 2021 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List for the honor given annually to the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight end by The Friends of John Mackey.

2021 Honors – John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List
– Has played in 29 of 30 possible games with 12 starts over the last three seasons after redshirting as a 2017 freshman and recorded career totals of 25 receptions for 342 yards with two touchdowns, as well as five tackles
– Contributed career highs of 13 receptions and 262 yards receiving (team and career-high 20.2 yards per reception), as well as three tackles as a 2019 sophomore
– Played in all four games with three starts in a 2020 junior season shortened by COVID-19 and contributed 13 catches for 80 yards and one touchdown including a career-high nine catches at Oregon State
– Equaled a career-high-tying one touchdown reception as both a sophomore on a career-long 60-yard reception at Ole Miss that was the team's longest play of the season and as a junior at Oregon State
 
The Mackey Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which is unveiling 2021 preseason watch lists for 16 of its 25 prestigious awards over a 12-day period from July 19-30.
