Kayla Wilkins Finishes Second in ITA Summer Circuit Points Race
TUCSON, Ariz. - After six weeks of competition, Kayla Wilkins has finished second in the ITA Summer Circuit Points Race, finishing with 925 points, while playing two less tournaments than the points champion. The 25 points that separated Wilkins and the points leader is the equivalent of one match win in an ITA tournament.
Throughout the ITA Summer Circuit, Wilkins competed in only three tournaments, winning the tournaments at Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, while finishing runner-up at NC State. Wilkins recorded victories against opponents from many Power 5 programs, such as NC State, Auburn and Virginia Tech. With these results, Wilkins has now qualified for the ITA National Summer Championships. This will take place in Tallahassee, Florida on Florida State's campus from August 6-10.
