McKade Mettauer is on the preseason watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award for the second consecutive campaign.

TYLER, Texas – McKade Mettauer, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, earned a spot Thursday on the preseason watch list for the Earl Campbell Award Tyler Rose Award for the second consecutive season.
The nominee must meet one of more of the following criteria; born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas high school, and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.

The award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football with Texas ties who also exhibits enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

– Played in all 17 games possible since his 2019 arrival and started each of the last 16 at right guard
– Has been on the preseason watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award given annually to the top Division I football player in the country with Texas ties as both a 2019 freshman and 2020 sophomore
– Honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection of Pro Football Focus both as a sophomore and in the preseason in advance of his 2021 junior campaign
 
The Watch List announced today will be narrowed to up to 16 semifinalists in November and then up to five finalists in December. The finalists will attend The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet in Tyler where the winner will be announced. The event is scheduled for January 12, 2022.
