BOULDER – Three former University of Colorado men's basketball standouts are on rosters for the 2021 NBA Summer League, Aug. 8-17, in Las Vegas.
McKinley Wright IV (2017-21) will play for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Tyler Bey (2017-20) has joined the Chicago Bulls and George King (2013-18) is on the roster of the Portland Trailblazers.
Wright, a three-time All-Pac-12 performer and Colorado's all-time leader in assists, signed a two-way contract with his hometown team on Friday and will make his Summer League debut on Monday, Aug. 9, against the San Antonio Spurs.
Bey joins the Bulls as a free agent after appearing in 18 games for the Dallas Mavericks as a rookie in 2020-21. Chicago begins Summer League action on Monday against New Orleans.
King, a 2018 second round pick of Phoenix, spent the last two seasons in Europe; most recently with Chemnitz in Germany. Portland opens on Sunday, Aug. 8, against Charlotte.
All three teams will play five games while in Las Vegas. A Bey-Wright matchup is set for Thursday, Aug. 12 as the Bulls and Timberwolves meet at 2 p.m. MT on NBA TV.
The schedule for the first four games for all three Summer League Buffs is below (All times MDT). A fifth game for all three teams will be played either Aug. 16 or 17 with opponent and time to be determined.
