Annabel Wilson Named to GB&I Curtis Cup Team
Rising junior Annabel Wilson has been named to the Great Britain and Ireland team for the upcoming Curtis Cup, which will take place Aug. 26-28 at the Conwy Golf Club in North Wales, as the GB&I faces the United States.
One of eight players named to the team, Wilson, a native of Lurgan, Northern Ireland, was named All-Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention last season, ranking second on the team with a 74.1 scoring average. In nine tournaments, she finished in the Top 10 four times, posting six under-par rounds. Wilson tied for second at the PING/ASU Invitational (-4, 212), opening and closing with 2-under 70s. She tied for fifth at the Silverado Showdown (E, 216), finishing with a 2-under 70, tied for seventh at the Pac-12 Championship (-1, 212), closing with rounds of 1-under 70 and a season-low, 3-under 68, and tied for seventh at The Match in the Desert (+4, 148), opening with a 2-under 70. Wilson also tied for 11th at the Sun Devil Winter Classic (+3, 219) and placed 17th at the Lamkin Invitational.
Wilson's naming to a Curtis Cup team marks the ninth consecutive tournament where a Bruin will compete.
