LOS ANGELES – UCLA Cross Country announced Monday its regular and postseason schedule for the upcoming 2021 NCAA season, as outlined by Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Avery Anderson. The Bruins compete in four regular season meets ahead of postseason competition.
The Bruins open the season on Wednesday, Sept. 1 with a tri-meet against UC Riverside and UC San Diego in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. The team then heads up to Eugene, Ore., for the Dellinger Invitational (Sept. 23), as UCLA is set to compete in the Oregon-hosted meet for the second time in three years. UCLA then heads to the prestigious Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Oct. 15 in Madison, Wisc., with an invitational at UC Riverside likely on the schedule for the same weekend.
Postseason competition kicks off with the Pac-12 Championships on Friday, Oct. 29. The University of Utah is hosting the Conference Meet in Salt Lake City. The NCAA postseason schedule opens with West Regionals in Sacramento on Friday, Nov. 12. Sacramento State is serving as host at the Hagan Oaks Golf Complex. The 2021 season wraps with the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Tallahassee, Fla.

2020 in Review
The Bruins impressed on the men's and women's sides in a shortened 2020 campaign.
The Bruin men earned a team sweep at the Arizona Invitational (Feb. 5) to kick off the season, led by an individual victory from Michael Mireles in his collegiate debut. The squad went on to earn its second victory of the year at the Dave Murray Invitational (Feb. 19), with Peter Herold earning a fourth-place finish on the 8k course. The team earned a fifth-place finish at Pac-12 Championships, with freshman Anthony Stone crossing as the Bruins' top runner in 28th place.
UCLA's women's squad also earned team victories at the Arizona Invitational and Dave Murray Invitational, with Emma Tavella and Paige Carter crossing as the Bruins' first and second runners, respectively, in both races. Kira Loren led the Bruin charge at the Pac-12 Championships in her final collegiate race, finishing 66th overall as the team finished 10th. True freshmen Savannah Scriven and Ashley Johnson toed the line in each of the team's three meets in 2021.
