Eight members of the 2021 UCLA Gymnastics team have earned Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA). The WCGA Scholastic All-America team recognizes gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for 2020-21. A record 1,059 gymnasts were honored across the nation in 2021.
The Bruins receiving honors are Norah Flatley, Paige Hogan, Kendal Poston, Samantha Sakti, Sara Taubman, Pauline Tratz, Sara Ulias and Lilia Waller.
Tratz earned Scholastic All-America honors for the fourth consecutive year. The Communication Studies major was named the 2021 Pac-12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is a three-time Pac-12 academic honoree. Tratz also received CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2021, as well as the Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award, which is given to student-athletes who have made the Director's Honor Roll every quarter at UCLA. A member of UCLA's 2019-20 All-Academic team, Tratz is returning to the squad for a fifth season.
Another returning fifth-year senior, Poston, earned her third Scholastic All-America award of her career after being previously honored in 2018 and 2020. Poston, who is majoring in Political Science, also received the Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award and was named to the 2021 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
Two rising seniors – Sakti and Taubman – received their third consecutive Scholastic All-America nods. Sakti is majoring in Psychology and earned placement on UCLA's All-Academic team this season by posting the team's highest cumulative GPA. Taubman is a Human Biology & Society major.
Graduated senior Lilia Waller (Psychology) receives her second honor, and three Bruins are first-time honorees – Flatley (Political Science), Hogan (Environmental Science) and Ulias (Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology).
