Hockey Unveils Exclusive Home and Away Uniforms
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State men's ice hockey team unveiled new home and away uniforms on Thursday afternoon. The set is the first uniform silhouette designed and developed specifically for ASU. The team will debut the uniform in the first game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Oceanside Ice Arena.
The white uniform will serve as ASU's primary home jersey while the maroon uniform will be worn on the road. The pair was created in a joint collaboration with adidas Hockey and Sun Devil Hockey.
For the past six seasons, ASU and adidas partnered to create home and away jerseys for the Sun Devils based on already existing NHL uniform designs. In previous seasons, ASU adopted the Vegas Golden Knights and the Chicago Blackhawks uniforms, implementing ASU colors and logos on the NHL templates.
The home and away uniforms unveiled on Thursday are the first set created uniquely for ASU.
The lines across the chest and back meet to create a point along the sleeves of both jerseys. The design is a nod to ASU's pitchfork logo.
Sun Devil Hockey returns to traditional colors with the use of ASU's primary colors: maroon and gold.
ASU continues to wear adidas' adiZero design with a twist on the new home and away jerseys. Both uniforms are made of out Prime Blue, adidas' recycled materials.
The maroon away jersey will go on sale on Sunday, August 15 at ASU Bookstores and Oceanside Ice Arena
