Murphy led the pack from the start on the narrow mountain-bike singletrack switchbacks and never looked back, finishing nearly three minutes ahead of the second-place runner, Rachel Johnson (46:11). The victory on the 10k course also secured her a spot on the US Team, which will compete in the World Mountain Running Championships – which was recently postponed to due to rise of COVID-19 cases both in Thailand and around the world.
