USC's Sam Kobrine Named To U.S. Men's National Team For 2021 NORCECA Continental Championship

Sam Kobrine, a graduate transfer on the 2022 USC men's volleyball team, will represent USA Volleyball at the 2021 Men's NORCECA Continental Championship on Aug. 18-23 in Durango, Mexico. 

The 14-member team will play in Pool B along with defending 2019 NORCECA champion Cuba, Dominican Republic and Guatemala. Pool A will consist of Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Trinidad & Tobago. 

The U.S. Men took silver at the 2019 NORCECA Championship. 

Kobrine is listed as a setter on the U.S. roster. 

He transferred to USC this summer as an outside hitter/opposite hitter/setter from UCLA, where he appeared in 71 matches (with 39 starts) in his 4-year (2018-21) career.  He made AVCA All-American honorable mention and All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team as a 2021 senior when he led the Bruins in assists (827) and digs (136) and also had 59 kills (hitting .303), 13 aces and 38 blocks
