2021-22 Women’s Golf Schedule Released

Aug 20, 2021
Senior Alisha Lau

BOULDER — University of Colorado women's golf coach Anne Kelly announced the team's 2021-22 schedule, which will feature five fall events and six spring events leading into the postseason.

"For the 2021-2022 season we have put together a very strong schedule," Kelly said. "Every tournament will include top teams and give our squad great experience playing against the best teams in college golf on a regular basis.  The Pac-12 is always filled with the world's topped ranked amateur golfers, which I believe is a real benefit for our program.  To be the best, you have to play against the best and this schedule provides that opportunity."

The Buffaloes will open the campaign at the Branch Law Firm-Dick McGuire Invitational, September 13-14, in Albuquerque, N.M. This is the fourth time in six years CU will open its season at this tournament. The Buffs played this tournament three straight years (2016-18) before opening their 2019 slate at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational. In 2020, CU opened its season in San Diego.

The second tournament will be The Golfweek Challenge, September 27-29, in Wolcott, Colo. at Red Sky Ranch.

Colorado will play another two events in October, starting with the Illini Women's Invitational. The Buffs will travel to Addison, Ill., for a two-day tournament, October 11-12, at Medinah Country Club. It will be a quick turnaround though as CU's next event will be October 15-17 on the West Coast. The Buffs are scheduled to play at the Condoleezza Rice – Stanford Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif., which was the site of the 2020 Pac-12 Golf Championships.

The fall slate will wrap up with the Pac-12 Preview in Hawai'i, November 1-3, at the Nanea County Club in Kona.

The 2022 spring season will begin like the Buffs' 2021 spring did, at the Lamkin SDSU Invitational. Colorado will head to The Farms Country Club in Ranch Santa Fe, Calif., for the two-day event, February 14-15. A week later the team will head to Houston, Texas for the ICON Invite, February 21-22, at the Golf Club of Houston.

March will be a busy month with three tournaments, starting with the Juli Inkster Invitational, March 7-8, in Fairfax, Calif. CU will then head to John's Island, S.C. for the Briar's Creek Invitational, March 14-15. The busy month will wrap up with the Ping Arizona State Invitational, March 25-27, in Tempe, Ariz.

The regular season will conclude April 4-6 with the Buffaloes co-hosting their annual Silverado Showdown with Oregon in Napa, Calif., at the Silverado Resort and Spa.

The 2022 Pac-12 Championship is set for April 18-20 and will be hosted by Oregon at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 9-11 at various sites, while the NCAA Championship will be May 20-25 in Scottsdale, Ariz. at Grayhawk Golf Club.
