Fagen comes to ASU after a brief career at Cornell. The Big Red didn't compete during the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and in his freshman season of 2019-20, Fagen saw action in just three duals. Wrestling at 197 lbs, he earned six wins, picking up five  by decision and another one by fall. He went 2-2 at the Bearcat Open and was 4-0 at the Cornell Open. Fagen, a Barrett, The Honors College candidate, is expected to wrestle in the 184 lbs class for the Sun Devils

Fagen's highschool credentials include four Idaho State Champion crowns from Fruitland high school – where he graduated with a 4.0 gpa and as a valedictorian – a pair of All-Star Classic championships, a 194-14 career record, and two NHSCA National All-America accolades. His uncle Travis Fagen wrestled at Arizona State from 1986-90 and was on the 1988 ASU Wrestling National Championship team.
