The Paralympic Games are underway in Tokyo, and Washington Rowing is represented once again by Danielle Hansen '17, who will compete in her second Paralympics, in the United States PR3 mixed four with coxswain.
Hansen and her U.S. boatmates will begin competition with a heat on Thursday, Aug. 26 (Friday, Tokyo Time). She is the only returning member of the crew that won the silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The U.S. will compete against 11 other crews in the PR3 Mix4+ competition.
Heats begin Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time (9:30 a.m. on Friday, Tokyo Time). Hansen and her crew will row in the first of two heats in their event at 7:30 p.m. PT. Only the top finisher in each six-boat heat progresses directly to the A final, while all others move on to repechages. Repechages follow the next day at the same time, and finals in the four Paralympic rowing categories get underway Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
