UCLA Announces 2021 Men's Water Polo Schedule

The Bruins will open the 2021 season at the Triton Invitational against Biola on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 9:50 a.m. PT.

LOS ANGELES – The defending NCAA champion UCLA men's water polo team announced its 2021 schedule today, highlighted by a conference home game against Stanford (Oct. 9) and hosting the 2021 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship on Dec. 2-5. The road game at USC (Nov. 6) is the only regular-season game slated to be televised on the Pac-12 Network.

The Bruins will compete in three different regular-season tournaments during the year, beginning with the season opener against Biola on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 9:50 a.m. PT at the Triton Invitational on the campus of UC San Diego. UCLA will also face Whittier on Sept. 4 (1:20 p.m. PT) before closing out the tournament on Sunday, Sept. 5 with California Baptist University (9:50 a.m.) and UC Santa Barbara (1:50 p.m.).

After hosting UC Irvine on Friday, Sept. 10 at 5:00 p.m. in its home opener, UCLA will head to Claremont, Calif., for the Inland Empire Classic on Saturday, Sept. 11. The Bruins will open with UC San Diego (11:40 a.m.) and conclude the Classic with Pomona-Pitzer (4:00 p.m.).

UCLA will hit the road again the following weekend to face Long Beach State (Friday, Sept. 17 - 7:00 p.m.) and UC Santa Barbara (Saturday, Sept. 18 - 7:00 p.m.).

The MPSF Invitational concludes a stretch of eight consecutive games for the Bruins away from home when UCLA travels to Berkeley, Calif. (Sept. 24-26). The MPSF Invite will feature the best teams in the country and will be a seeded tournament (seedings/times TBD).

The Bruins will welcome in two teams the following weekend, beginning with San Jose State at 1:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, Oct. 2. UCLA will also face Navy later that evening (6:00 p.m.).

The following weekend, UCLA will open MPSF action with Stanford at home on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. PT. Later that day, the Bruins will host the annual Alumni Match (time TBD).

The Bruins will head to Stockton, Calif., to face Pacific on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1:00 p.m. PT. Then UCLA returns home to host Pepperdine on "Senior Day" in its final non-conference game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 24. The game is slated to start at Noon.

UCLA will continue MPSF play when they travel to USC on Saturday, Nov. 2 (time TBD). The Bruins will then close out the regular season with a game at California on Saturday, Nov. 9 (1:00 p.m. PT).

Stanford will host the six-team 2021 MPSF Championship on Nov. 19-21 while UCLA will host the 2021 NCAA Championship on Dec. 2-5.
