Clayton, Palangi Named CU Student-Athletes of the Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER--Volleyball's Leah Clayton and Soccer's Allie Palangi were named the CU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, for the August 23-29 time period. 

Palangi recorded four points in two games last week, picking up two assists in CU's 3-0 win over Colorado School of Mines and scoring CU's goal against No. 1 Florida State with a dramatic header in the Buffs 2-1 loss to the Seminoles. 

Clayton was named Charlotte Invitational MVP after averaging 5.28 kills per set in CU's opening two matches of the season.  She had 22 kills and 11 digs in CU's 3-1 win over Xavier Saturday morning and came back later that evening to have 15 kills while hitting .394 in the Buffs 3-0 sweep over host Charlotte. 

The soccer team heads to highly ranked TCU on Thursday with kickoff set for 6 p.m. MT on Watch ESPN before hosting Stony Brook Sunday at 1 p.m. at Prentup Field. 

The volleyball team heads back on the road for the Pac-12-Big Ten Challenge facing Iowa Friday at 3 p.m. and Illinois Saturday at 1 p.m. in Champaign, Ill.
