Football Gameday Protocol Reminders
The countdown has begun for a return to full capacity at Autzen Stadium this upcoming Oregon football season, though it won't quite be business as usual as the season opens.
When fans enter Autzen Stadium for the Ducks' 2021 home opener against Fresno State on Saturday at 11 a.m., they'll do so for the first time since November 2019. And while the COVID pandemic won't keep fans out of Autzen completely this season, as it did in 2020, there still will be protocols in place to protect student-athletes, staff and fans.
Fans in attendance Saturday will pass through a two-step process to access the stadium, under game-day protocols that will be reviewed on a weekly basis this season in consultation with and at the direction of local public health officials and the UO Incident Management Team.
First, fans will be required to show proof of full vaccination or results from a negative test taken within three days of the game, along with a piece of photo ID. Then they'll proceed to the ticket-scanning process, a mobile-only procedure that was scheduled to be in place last season before the pandemic kept fans out completely.
Because of that multi-step process, gates will open two hours prior to kickoff. Fans are asked to budget extra time to enter the stadium, given the protocols in place, and to keep in mind that wait times are expected to increase as kickoff time approaches.
Once inside, the Moshofsky Center will not be accessible. Postgame will be affected as well, with no on-field access allowed at any point after the game.
Fans ages 5 and over will be required to wear face coverings, except when actively eating or drinking. Because of staffing and supply chain issues, the number of concession stands available will be reduced by more than half, limited menu options will be available and cash will not be accepted.
Fans can order food and beverages through the Go Ducks Gameday App – through which game tickets will be accessed – or by going to paranoidfan.com to be able to have their order ready when they get to the concession stand. There will be QR codes around the stadium to allow quick access to menus.
Pregame shuttles to the stadium also will be cashless, with mobile passes available for purchase in advance. First Student has replaced LTD as operator of the gameday shuttles, from three locations: Valley River Center, Lane Events Center and Pacific Source.
Given the increased reliance on mobile technology, fans are strongly encouraged to make sure devices are fully charged on game day, to save tickets to devices in advance, and to make sure screens are clean and bright for easy access by scanners.
