LOS ANGELES - Sophomore forward Reilyn Turner scored a first-half hat trick to lead UCLA to a 3-0 victory at Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon. Turner scored all three goals in a 30-minute span, providing the only goals of the game after 35 minutes of play.
Turner's first goal came in the sixth minute and was set up with a pass in the box by freshman Quincy McMahon. Goal number two came 11 minutes later in the 17th minute on a skilled effort after receiving a long ball near the end line. Turner cut back inside and fired far post to beat LMU goalkeeper Kendyll Humphreys. She completed the hat trick at 35:46 after taking a through ball from Madelyn Desiano, gliding past the LMU defense and smoothly depositing the ball into right corner.
The hat trick was the first by a Bruin since Hailie Mace scored three, also in the first half, against Santa Clara in 2017.

Turner, UCLA's leading scorer in 2020 with 11 goals, now leads the Bruins in scoring with four goals and eight points.
UCLA's defense was stellar again, as the Bruins allowed just three second-half shots and only one shot on goal, which second-half starter Hannah Mitchell handled with ease. She and starter Lauren Brzykcy combined for the shutout, UCLA's third consecutive. The Bruins have allowed just one goal this season and have a team goals against average of 0.25.
A total of 25 players saw the pitch for the Bruins, including freshman Clara Härdling, who played 34 minutes in her first game of the season.
The Bruins (4-0) will next host defending NCAA champion Santa Clara on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7pm at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. Tickets are on sale now at uclabruins.com/tickets.
