Beavers Fall to GCU, 1-0

Sep 6, 2021

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's soccer team fell to Grand Canyon, 1-0, on Monday, in Corvallis, Ore.

"Obviously, we didn't get the result, and that's always disappointing," said head coach Terry Boss. "As a team, we have a belief in the locker room that we shouldn't be beat and we were beat. You know, Grand Canyon, we give credit to them. But we didn't play our best fútbol and that's something we've got to look in the mirror at and we've got to make it better."

The Beavers and Antelopes played a very physical game, with the majority of it being scoreless. The match was decided in the 88th minute when GCU's Justin Rasmussen found the net with a penalty kick goal.

In goal, senior Adrian Fernandez posted four saves over the course of the evening. The Beavers tallied three shots on goal out of 11 shots total and took nine corner kicks.
