Beavers Set to Clash with Seattle on Friday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's soccer team is set to travel to Seattle, Wash. to take on Seattle University on Friday at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN+ as well as the WAC Digital Network for international viewers. 
 
Last Time Out 
The Beavers traveled to Portland, Ore. for their first road match of the season, grounding the Portland Pilots, 2-0, on Sept. 3. Redshirt senior Tyrone Mondi scored a goal in the 31st minute and was assisted by junior Adrian Crespo. In the 43rd minute, junior Sofiane Djeffal scored the Beavers' second goal, unassisted. Junior Adrian Fernandez tallied two saves and recorded his 16th career solo shutout. Fernandez now holds the school record for career solo shutouts.
 
The Beavers returned to Lorenz Field on Sept. 6 to host GCU and fell, 1-0, to the Antelopes.
 
Last Time Against Seattle
Oregon State's match with Seattle during the 2020-21 spring season was canceled. The Beavers last faced Seattle on Sept. 27, 2015, falling 2-1 to the Redhawks in Corvallis, Ore. Timmy Mueller posted the Beavers' sole goal in the 77th minute of regulation. 
 
Scouting Seattle
Seattle is 3-1-0 (0-0-0 WAC) this season. The Redhawks opened the season with a 1-0 win over Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 26 and picked up a 3-1 victory over UC Davis on Aug. 28. Hitting the road, the Redhawks fell to Charlotte, 3-2, on Sept. 2 before bouncing back to defeat No. 24 Duke in double overtime, 1-0, on Sept. 6.
 
Junior Declan McGlynn leads Seattle in goals with two. Graduate student Noe Meza and sophomore Levonte Johnson lead the Redhawks in assists with two apiece. In goal, senior Akili Kasim has clocked 375:31 minutes and has made 23 saves, only allowing four goals. 
 
Last season Seattle went 6-4-1 (4-2-1 WAC), posting a 3-2 double overtime victory over Gonzaga on Feb. 3 and notching shutouts against Houston Baptist (Feb. 13), Dixie State (Mar. 6), and Air Force (Mar. 16). In the WAC Tournament, the Redhawks defeated UNLV, 3-1, on April 13, before falling to Grand Canyon, 2-0, in the semifinal on April 15.
