LOS ANGELES – In a battle between California's top teams, No. 4 UCLA bested No. 8 Santa Clara, the defending NCAA champions, 1-0, at UCLA's Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
Sophomore forward Reilyn Turner scored the game's only goal, a golazo in the 23rd minute to beat Bronco goalkeeper Kylie Foutch. Turner, who scored a hat trick in the Bruins' last game on Sunday at LMU, has scored UCLA's last four goals. Defender Madelyn Desiano earned the assist, her Pac-12 leading sixth of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy hadn't been tested much all season, totaling just three saves on the year prior going into the game, and she had triple that total on Thursday night, tying her career-high with nine saves. She recorded six of those saves in a busy second half, including a game-saver on a one-on-one opportunity by Izzy D'Aquila in the 61st minute, and an alert save in the 75th minute on a D'Aquila volley. Brzykcy stopped all six of D'Aquila's shot opportunities in the game and has not allowed a goal in 360 minutes of play this season.
1v1 against reigning @pac12 Goalkeeper of the Year @laurenbrzykcy11. Good luck!
