Koll Completes Staff

Sep 9, 2021

STANFORD, Calif. – Former Missouri standout Grant Leeth has been named volunteer assistant to complete the Stanford wrestling staff, head coach Rob Koll announced today.

"I am excited Grant has joined our program and is a great addition to our staff," said Koll. "I've known him as a recruit, competed against him and am now happy to have him on our side."

An All-American at Missouri, Leeth will assist in recruiting and other administrative duties for the program. He will also help revitalize the Cardinal Wrestling Club and run club practices. Additionally, he will work with and help train RTC athletes.

"I am extremely excited and beyond grateful to join the coaching staff at Stanford," said Leeth. "Since getting to know the coaching staff and student-athletes here for the past few months, I can't imagine a  better situation to be in.

"We are coming in at an extremely challenging but exciting time for the program, and I fully believe that this team of coaches and student-athletes has what it takes to make Stanford wrestling a premier program. The caliber of athletes, on and off the mat, are something that every coach dreams of and I believe that will show in the coming months."

After missing two and a half seasons due to various injuries, Leeth returned to the mat in a big way in 2017-18, capturing his first conference title and achieving All-America status. He was ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation that season and finished sixth at 149 pounds at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. Following the season, he was named Most Improved at his team's year-end banquet.

Leeth also qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2020 at 141 pounds after placing third at the MAC Championships.

Leeth graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and a master's degree in business administration.
