'Trojans Live': Mike Bohn, Donte Williams Give First Interviews Since USC Football Coaching Change

Sep 13, 2021

USC athletic director Mike Bohn, interim head football coach Donte Williams and head women's soccer coach Keidane McAlpine appeared in perhaps the most notable "Trojans Live" episode in the show's history on Monday.

Bohn explained why he decided to part ways with Clay Helton and expressed relief that he and Helton were able to inform the team before the news broke. Bohn also raved about the energy he has seen from the Trojan Family at games and called it USC's "secret sauce."

Williams chronicled the moment he was named the interim head coach, discussed the day-to-day adjustments he has to make and offered a rallying message to the Trojan Family.

"I'm about making sure that the Coliseum is sold out," Williams said. "What we need to do is make sure we put the best product on the field to make sure that happens, right? The administration here is doing everything possible to give us the things that we need to do to succeed, you know? We're going to make sure that we put our best foot forward and we match their efforts."

McAlpine shared his perspective on Monday's big news as a fellow head coach, recapped the women's soccer team's challenging non-conference road trips and discussed the unique complexities in soccer compared to other sports.

"Trojans Live" airs every Monday at 7:00 p.m. PT during the football season, live on 790 KABC, USCTrojans.com/Listen and on @USC_Athletics Twitter
