Sep 14, 2021

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – No. 13 Arizona Women's Golf battled rain and challenging weather conditions to move up the leaderboard on the second day of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Led by junior Gile Bite Starkute's round of 1-under par, Arizona climbed up four spots on the leaderboard with a second-round score of 3-over par.

"I am proud of how our team persevered through today's weather conditions and finished our round strong," said head coach Laura Ianello. "Our team made twice as many birdies today after the turn and propelled our climb up the leaderboard. We moved up four spots today, and I look forward to tomorrow's third round and another opportunity to make additional moves."

Starkute's one-under round on Tuesday made her one of only ten players in the entire field to break par during the rainy conditions. Freshman Lilas Pinthier posted her second consecutive round of even par in her first collegiate tournament.

Yu-Sang Hou solidified her top-10 position on Tuesday with her round of 2-over par, putting her in a tie for ninth at 2-under heading into the final round.

Wednesday will be the third and final round of the season-opening event with Arizona sitting in sixth place at 7-over par as a team.
