What's New at Stanford Stadium for 2021

Sep 17, 2021

STANFORD, Calif. - As Cardinal fans return to Stanford Stadium for the 2021 season, they can expect several changes to improve the fan experience.

COVID-19 VACCINATION OR TESTING PROOF

Spectators will be required to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or negative test (PCR or LAMP) taken within 72 hours of the game's kickoff time. Prior to entering Cardinal football games at Stanford Stadium, spectators 12 and older will need to visit a tent marked "COVID-19 Vaccine or Testing Verification" where they will present vaccine or testing documentation and receive a wristband. Fans are encouraged to visit verification tents, which open three hours prior to kickoff,  as early as possible. A map of the tent locations can be found here (PDF). Spectators are strongly encouraged to wear masks during the game to protect themselves and others.

Additionally, hand sanitizer stations will be located inside each entry gate location and additional staff will be disinfecting high touch-point areas throughout the stadium.

Wi-Fi UPGRADE

Stanford Athletics has installed a new Wi-Fi system within Stanford Stadium, allowing fans to enjoy a more connected gameday experience. The new Wi-Fi configuration, which more than doubles the access points at Stanford Stadium, will allow fans to access mobile ticketing, leverage the Stanford Athletics App, share their experiences on social media, and access real-time statistics and commentary.

Access to the network is available outside of the gates, throughout the bowl, within the concourses, and in the press box.  Simply connect your mobile device to #GoStanford and you'll be all set!

MOBILE TICKETING

In an effort to provide a more convenient, sustainable and secure gameday experience, Stanford Athletics will transition exclusively to mobile tickets and parking passes for all ticketed athletic events, beginning with the 2021 fall sports season. With the introduction of the all-new Stanford Athletics mobile app and enhanced My Account portal, managing your Stanford Athletics tickets has never been easier! Mobile ticketing will help provide an additional level of security, guarding against the production of fraudulent and counterfeit tickets.

While we will no longer offer paper tickets, we are excited to offer fans the opportunity to order commemorative tickets to continue the tradition of having a keepsake to commemorate an event or game, and for nostalgia for years to come.

CASHLESS CONCESSIONS AND PARKING

To provide the safest and most convenient experience for fans, Stanford Stadium is going cashless in several new ways. Gameday parking transactions in general lots will be cashless, and all fixed concessions stands inside the stadium have transitioned to cashless purchasing (Apple Pay or credit or debit card only). Fans can simply approach an ordering tablet, tap the items to purchase and pay with a smartphone or credit or debit card. Fans may use cash to purchase prepaid concessions cards at a table on the concourse behind Section 101.

NEW FAN-FEST LOCATION AND GATE LAYOUT

Fan-Fest has been moved to the corner of Galves and Nelson, outside of Gate 5, steps away from Stanford Stadium. Fan-Fest will offer Smoking Pig BBQ and food truck options. While Fan-Fest will not offer a Coaches' Chalk Talk, there will be children and family activities, music and other entertainment.

The 2021 season will welcome a new gate layout, as general public may now enter through Gates 2, 4, 5, 10 and 12.
