Beavers Host UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's soccer team is set to host UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore. Tickets are available for Tuesday's game, ranging from $4-$6. Live stats and a live stream will also be available. 
 
Last Time Out 
The Beavers picked up a 2-1 win over Seattle in Seattle, Wash. on Sept. 10. Graduate student Adrian Molina-Diaz posted the Beavers' first goal off a header, assisted by junior Sofiane Djeffal, in the 45th minute. The Beavers' second goal, and game-winner, was posted shortly after in the 47th minute by Mouhameth Thiam, who was assisted by redshirt seniors Tyrone Mondi and Tsiki Ntsabeleng. Junior Adrian Fernandez notched two saves against the Redhawks. 
 
Last Time Against UC Santa Barbara 
Oregon State last met UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 15, 2019 in Corvallis, Ore., falling to the Gauchos, 3-2.  Arnaud Deniel put the Beavers on the board in the 51st minute, assisted by Djeffal. In the 63rd minute, Steffan Yeates found the net with assists from Joel Walker and Joe Hafferty. 
 
Scouting UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Barbara is 3-3-1 (0-0 Big West). The Gauchos opened the season with a 7-1 victory over San Diego on Aug. 26. On Aug. 29, UCSB's battle with California ended in a 1-1 draw after double overtime. The Gauchos posted a 3-0 shutout against San Francisco on Sept. 3, as well as a 1-0 shutout against Colgate on Sept. 10. UCSB is coming off a 1-0 double overtime loss to Loyola Marymount on Sept. 17. 
 
Junior Thaabit Baartman and sophomore Finn Ballard McBride lead the team in goals with three apiece. Leading the team in assists is sophomore Nemo Philipp with two. In goal, sophomore Leroy Zeller has clocked 696:31 minutes between the pipes, posting 29 saves and allowing nine goals. The Gauchos have tallied 16 goals compared to nine scored by opponents.  
 
Last spring, UCSB went 2-2-1 in exhibition matches. The Gauchos opened play on April 3 with a 0-0 draw with Sacramento State before picking up wins over Cal Poly on April 18 and CSUN on May 2.
